We have, [She let out a sigh] Sprout only told me she’d be ten minutes, but it’s been a lot longer than that. [Hearing his next words she looked at him] To scared to go to the kitchens and get some food? [She let out a chuckle] Course I’m not scared, lets do exactly that, because I am a little hungry.
Good. [laughs, shaking his head] You’d be surprised how many people would be afraid of something so little. [shrugs, dropping his toothbrush into the bucket full of soap and water, wiping off his hands] So.. Calista, right? Have you ever gotten a detention?
[She looked at him for a moment] I do it all the time, but then the house elves tend to give us food, especially when we’re on duty [she smiled, then looked thoughtful] Yes, and yes, I have had detention, second year, can’t remember what for now though as it was such a minor thing, I only had to write one hundred lines though.
[whistles, nodding] Being a Prefect sure has it’s perks, yeah? [eyebrows raise in slight surprise at her confession, looking somewhat impressed] Really? I would’ve never guessed. [chuckles] I mean, I barely even know you though. For all I know you could be a model student by day and a party animal by night. [smirks]
[She raised an eyebrow] I kind of wish I was a party animal, but you know I sort of enjoy being a model student. [She sighed] I just can’t seem to win [She chuckled] But yes, It was such a stupid reason for receiving a detention and the punishment wasn’t even worth Professor Snape wasting his time, but you know what he’s like. [She smiled at Brian] So Brian, How often do you get detention?
I think you could be both, if you really wanted to. I’m sure there are loads of other students here that ‘ave managed to pull it off. [raises an eyebrow] Yeah, I know what he’s like. You’ve either got to be really lucky or a Slytherin to get on his good side. [shrugs, looking up at the ceiling as he thinks about her question] Not that often, really. I’m usually better at controlling my temper.. this time I just.. couldn’t.
I’m sure that’s probably true, But I have a reputation to uphold [She smiled] I can’t go tarnishing my virtually clean record now can I? [She chuckled at her own question, she really wished she could, but she wanted to make her parents proud, with them being dead, she hoped she was doing exactly that] Maybe once I graduate I might do the balancing act of the two. [She smiled again] Well as long as you keep your temper under control when you need too, thats a good thing.
